About the Author

A life of service in urban ministry and discipleship

After graduating from Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary John has served as a Program Director with a Chicago Inner City Ministry as well as Youth Pastor, Minister of Christian Education, and Education Pastor in three Churches. Since 1998 John has served on the staff of Armitage Baptist Church and is currently Pastor of Discipleship. As Pastor of Discipleship John has had a fruitful ministry directing the men’s department, discipling men and conducting marriage counseling. John has lived and served in the inner city of Chicago for almost 30 years.

Church congregations around the world are struggling to maintain equilibrium. Their attendance has either plateaued or is declining. My new book focuses on transforming lives through disciple making and is a book, I believe, can challenge and direct church leaders who desire to create biblical renewal. With God’s help, I believe this book will enable them to recapture the zeal and focus the early church had for disciple making.
